First Annual Benefit Concert September 30 2017

Help Families in Crisis in Cleveland.

Safe Families for Children – Cleveland launched last September with the goal of helping families in crisis and returning the Church back to the forefront of care and hospitality. Since our launch we’ve grown rapidly serving families and children across the Cleveland area with the Church as the centerpiece for care.

We are looking to expand our reach to help families stay together, reduce neglect and abuse, and keep children out of the Foster Care system.  With every ticket purchased for this fundraising event will provide us with the opportunity to meet the needs of others.

Our featured Artist of the evening is George Dennehy.  George was born with no arms and abandoned to live in an orphanage in Romania.  Yet, through the love of a family in the US his life’s story changed from hopeless to hopeful.  George shares in the vision of Safe Families for Children as someone who experienced the love of God through a compassionate Christian family.  God has gifted George with the ability to play the piano and guitar and a passion to share his story.  He’s played in a variety of settings, but perhaps most notable was his time playing the band the Goo goo Dolls. George will be playing at the concert and sharing his story that meshes with those we serve through Safe Families for Children.

We also have a well known local artist who shares the passion of Safe Families for Children. Morgan Mecaskey is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist living in Cleveland, Ohio. The former front of acclaimed local indie/folk band Tinamou, Mecaskey made her solo debut in 2012 with the EP, “Righteous Kind”.

The night will start with worship music.  Chris & Bethany Solyntjes are husband and wife worship leaders out of Renew Communities in Cleveland, Ohio. What started as writing and leading worship at Grace College in northern Indiana, turned into a marriage and lifelong commitment to show people the love and faithfulness of a God who is always near.

Our Emcees for this exciting event will be Brian & Kathleen from Moody Radio’s Morning Show.  This vibrant team provides listeners with engaging content each morning as people drive into work and other destinations.  We are excited to have them share in the evening.

Looking forward to an awesome event to raise awareness and funds to help hurting families across Cleveland.
