Run Ryan Run

Safe Families for Children has been fortunate to have so many wonderful volunteers who are willing to help raise awareness and to advocate on behalf of the many families in Cleveland.

The Cleveland Marathon is coming up on May 19th and Ryan Hartzell (General Manager at TownHall ) a serious long distance runner has graciously decided to raise $5,000.  We are so thankful that he’s chosen to run for us to help bring about awareness and help financially.

RUN RYAN RUN!

Below is Ryan’s Bio:

Hello, my name is Ryan Hartzell, I am 38 years old from Lakewood, OH.   I have been married to my beautiful wife Marianne for almost 7 years and we have 2 dogs Miles (my new running partner) and Brutus.  I am the General Manager at TownHall in Ohio City.  Running became a big part of my life in 2013 when I began to run long distances.  What started as my first 5k tuned into multiple marathons and ultramarathons with a potential 100 miler in my future.

I never would have seen myself getting into running long distances (especially ultras) but fell in love with the Northeast Ohio running community and our beautiful trail system.  I started running with multiple running groups on a regular basis and ended up meeting some amazing people that I can now consider friends.  I ended up partnering up with one to start our own biweekly running group called Eat Clean, Run Dirty out of TownHall every other Monday.  I work a busy schedule so making time for running can be a challenge but people like my brother Rick, cousin Adam, and many friends (all ultra-runners) keep me motivated and inspired to stick with it no matter what.  “Find a way not an excuse”

I am excited to not only participate in the Cleveland Marathon but more importantly I’m excited to help raise money for Safe Families for Children.  There are many great parents out there that run into obstacles in life that even the smallest amount of help will keep them on track so that they can give their children the life they deserve.   Please join me in this journey and let’s help make an impact on families in need.  Let’s do it for the kids!
